Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb ha anunciado que hay cuatro nuevos juegos retrocompatibles en Xbox One, destacando por supuesto que se agrega un nuevo Call of Duty.
Los juegos de Xbox 360 que se ahora son compatibles con Xbox One son Call of Duty: World at War, E4: Every Extend Extra Extreme, Encleverment Experiment y FunTown Mahjong.

Call of Duty: World at War se lanzó en 2008 y fue desarrollado por Treyarch, fue el último Call of Duty ambientado en la Segunda Guerra Mundial y fue el primero en incluir el modo Zombis que se ha hecho muy popular en la franquicia.
Hryb también comentó que todos los juegos Call of Duty retrocompatibles ahora se pueden comprar directamente en Xbox One, y por cierto estos son los que se han agregado hasta la fecha:
- Call of Duty 2
- Call of Duty 3
- Call of Duty: World at War
- Call of Duty: Black Ops
